WHO WE ARE
Horizon Research Consultants (HRC), Inc. is a West Virginia based, 100 percent woman owned, multi-disciplinary professional research firm that provides a full range of Archaeological and Historical consulting services. We specialize in cultural resource management, archaeology, historic preservation and anthropology.
HRC was established in 1983 and is led by Tammy Taylor and Kenneth Botham whom collectively have over 38 years of experience in cultural resource management projects. Focus of completed Archeological phase I , II and III surveys, excavations and technical reports have been in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky , Maryland and Virginia.
SERVICES
Phase I, Phase II , and Phase III Archaeological and Historic inventory surveys for any size project area, including cultural resource reports for all projects. Advisory services for Section 106 requirements including site mapping, excavation, computerized statistical analysis, and predictive modeling to insure time and cost effective archaeological studies.
HRC also conducts historic literature searches, cemetery surveys, deed searches, national register nominations, HABS/HAER documentation and modeling utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

ARCHAEOLOGICAL STAFF
Our Archaeological Staff consists of fully trained, experienced, degreed professionals with a thorough understanding of the Section 106 Process. Our Phase I, II and III pre-historic and archaeological investigations employ up-to-date techniques and methods, such as predictive modeling and geotechnical testing. This allows for the accurate assessment of cultural remains. Our staff can aid the client in all aspects of CRM project clearance.
